How to Make Sure your Paint Job is Professional

Fancy a share?

Painting a room is a great way to change the look of your home, bring it up to date and bring new life into it. We have all been seeing a lot more of our homes that we would probably have liked over the last 12 months or so, so it is little wonder that many people have decided to give their interiors a bit of a facelift!

When it comes to getting the perfect paint job, the first thing that you need to concentrate on is your canvas – walls that are lumpy or uneven are not going to give you the best finish, so you may want to consider having a professional plasterer like this Cheltenham plasterers http://pureplasterers.co.uk/ making your walls smooth and even ready for paint to be applied.

Once your walls are smooth and have dried out you can begin the paint job. It is best to clean the walls with water and sugar soap before you begin. Clear furniture out of the room and lay a groundsheet. You can then coat the walls in a white primer paint to get it ready for the colour of your choice.

When you are ready to paint make sure that you have all the tools that you need – rollers and brushes and begin by using the roller on all the large areas of the wall. Once you have done a coat of paint with the roller, you can then use the brushes to do the ‘cutting in’ – painting around the edges of the walls and around objects like the radiators.
