Why all medical practices have to have a locum

Fancy a share?

In these ever changing times of medical need there is one group of people that the medical profession needs to fall back on at quite regular intervals. This is the locum. You may have heard of the phrase in passing and wondered who these people are. Quite simply they stand in for Doctors, Nurses or Pharmacists and can come in at short notice to fill in any gaps that sickness or emergency needs dictate.

All of them will have needs of, or have in place, Locum Insurance. Locum insurance through MPRS is one of the best providers of this. It means that the locum is covered should there be any issues of malpractice and the like after any treatment. This is a standard arrangement and is not out of the ordinary in any way.

The locum is the troubleshooter. They can come in and make sure that the pharmacy or hospital is able to keep its level of service up to its usual high standards. The Locum can be placed in any part of the country and for as long as is deemed necessary. It does not have to be the same person as the slot can be filled by a variety of people on an interchangeable basis. This fluidity has been vital over the past year as services have been under extra pressure given the current situation. Many locums have found themselves in one place for a considerable amount of time. This is not their usual experience.
